Ras y Wyddfa, Snowdon International Race.
A great day out for runners and supporters despite the weather.
The conditions were warm, misty and drizzly in Llanberis which got progressively colder, windier and wetter higher up the mountain.
6 club members took part in the race.
Ifan Richards, running in his Wales shirt (and shorts, shoes etc), stormed home in 18th position in a time of 1hr 16mins 33secs, followed by Tom Roberts in 1hr 24mins 27secs, Adam Preston in 1hr 28mins 23secs, Pete Nicholls in 1hr 52mins 33secs, John Smith in 1hr 53mins 11secs and Kevin Evans in 2hrs 5mins 24secs.
Alex Lanz won the junior race in fine style, finishing in 22mins 16secs.
The many supporters deserve credit for walking up the mountain and standing around in very unpleasant conditions while cheering on the runners, although rumour has it that alcohol was taken to keep the chills away.
We now have a second competitor in the "Navigator of the Year" competition, as Gaenor Smith managed to descend by the wrong path and had to get a bus back from Pen y Pass to Llanberis.
